Demands the return of Neo's Body

a packed crowd at the Club Messiah Morpheus gave the
following speech to a mix reception. Many fear the
thin truce is likely to be upset by this
balance of play from Morpheus. We will have to wait
and see what reaction the Machines have to the
request for his body.
Morpheus began with the assertion that he knows
the Machines still have Neo.
Morpheus: All we have are pictures. Pixels. Digital
data.
Morpheus: The same stuff that makes up the falsehood
we see around us, and feel under our feet.
Morpheus: Neo may yet be alive, surrounded by the
scuttling machines, a prisoner.
Morpheus: Or the truth may be stranger.
Morpheus: Neo may even have a new RSI, and walk the
Matrix in the fog of forgetting. Or one of false
memories.
Morpheus: It may be you.
Morpheus: Or you.
Morpheus: Yes, Neo may now have a woman's RSI.
Anything is possible.
Morpheus: But that question waits upon the return of
his body. That is the first step.
Morpheus: We have devices that can inquire whether
downloading has occurred.
Morpheus: But we need the body, and its jacking-in
sockets, to use them.
Morpheus: Interestingly, the Machines have
explicitly stated they have not recycled the body.
Morpheus: Until they return him we cannot know. So
we must apply pressure until they do.
Morpheus: Stress the system! Sow unbelief!
Morpheus: The Matrix has failed before. It failed to
convince. Bluepills awoke en masse, and collapse
followed.
Morpheus: True, some may die. But I do not believe
the Machines will let it come to that.
Morpheus: The Machines must return The One. His
physical remains - the tattered RSI is not enough.
Morpheus: He must lie in a reliquarium in Zion. Or,
if he lives, be reunited with his kind.
Morpheus: Our first blow comes tomorrow, if they
fail to bend. It will be...spectacular.
Morpheus: Neo did not give up on us, and I will not
give up on him.
Devol: Morpheus, Zion command does not stand behind
you on this. They claim they have other cards to
play, more diplomatic. Are you unwilling to give
them a chance?
Morpheus: Devol, the time for discussion with the
Machines is over.
Morpheus: The Truce is not peace. I do not believe
the Machines will allow this to come to war.
Morpheus: We currently live in opression [sic] to
the demands of the Machines. Those of us who have
taken the bluepill live in slavery. This is not
freedom. This is not peace.
Bakkhos: Those who have taken that blue pill have
made their choice. What right is it of yours to take
that choice away?
Morpheus: Some may die. Unfortunate, yes...
Morpheus: How is that choice Bakkhos? They were
given the option to live as slaves or to exist under
their rules.
Morpheus: The Machines have until tomorrow! Neo's
body must be returned!
Morpheus: The time will come for us to shake the
Matrix.
Morpheus: Tomorrow.

The Sentinel
Reports Morpheus
in Mega City

Fri 20th May 2005 17:00:00 GMTToday's
edition of the leading Mega City newspaper 'The
Sentinel' reports on believed sightings of Morpheus
have increased in recent weeks. This would spell a
change in direction as Morpheus has been keeping a
fairly low profile within Mega City. This added to
the rumor based on a report issued in the autumn
that Morpheus was killed while committing a
terrorist act in South America. Using this as cover
while events in the city claimed down perhaps he
feels enough time has passed for a return.
The Sentinel reports that the sightings could be
attributed to another man who has been in and out of
mental institutions for a number of years. At times
he has called himself Paul Robeson, Haitian founder
Toussaint L'Ouverture, anticommunist writer George
Schuyler, and Jesus Christ. They now believe he's
running around calling himself Morpheus and is
seeking the return of a prisoner or the body of a
fallen comrade whom he believes is being held by
authorities. If this is the real Morpheus then it
could be he is stepping up his quest for Neo's body
to be returned. I guess we will have to wait a
little while longer to find out if their is any
truth in the story.
